the garden is bursting with tomatoes. and also weeds. but mostly tomatoes....and some jalapenos. also, an unidentified squash that continually flowers but produces no produce. but i digress, lets get back to the tomatoes::
look at that yellow! back in the day, the girls and i would frequently hit up the med (where many a noteworthy night began) and this was always one of my top picks from the tapas menu. caprese salad. so easy and so absolutely amazing. especially when you're starting with homegrown tomatoes that are still warm from sitting on the vine in the late summer sun. poetic enough for you?::
a little extra virgin olive oil, an ample amount of course salt and some freshly ground pepper, and::
a meal in itself.
