this is what we woke up to this morning; the remnants of a storm that really didn't get underway until after dark the evening before. this was a beautiful wet snow that stuck to each and every branch and this was the perfect morning to get a head start on my valentines day goodies.
so i got little lu down for her first long nap of the day and fired up the oven.
up close and personal with the sprinkles....i got a little carried away with this photo shoot, but i'm sure you already noticed that.

this was my grandmothers recipe.....authentic italian cookies, only made on the holidays. of course, i've included ALL holidays. i'm sure you will be seeing these again come easter time. they are so lemony, cakey and delicious and always remind me of my gram. she always made hers super-sized and with plenty of glaze.
now that these are safely packed away i can finish up some other things i have going on and get to work on my grocery list for dinner and my special surprise for dessert. these will be but a side dish to the main event! i'll meet you back here on monday to reveal my final valentines day creation! happy weekend and happy valentines day to you! over and out.
