lets follow yesterdays gag inducing post with something a little more enticing! i've been eyeing up this recipe since i bought the martha stewart baking book (which was a long, long time ago). every year i get so caught up in caprese salad and homemade salsa that it doesn't hit me until i'm turning over the garden, that i have forgotten yet again. well not this year. here is the tomato tart i've been dreaming of::
anything that starts with a mashed up head of roasted garlic is worth making, i really don't care what the other ingredients are, its worth it.
bake, bake::
so good. worth the wait. the only thing i would do differently next time would be to blind bake the tart shell a little before putting it all together. the garden tomatoes let off a ton of juice and the bottom crust bore the brunt of it. but other than that, delicious and nutritious!
