i finished this one and i'm not too sure about it. i'm making one for each of the girls, so this was the trial sweater. i don't think my color scheme came across the way i thought it would. i got caught up in bella's love of all things girly, saw the poofy princess sleeves, found the sparkly white yarn and went for it. i knew the white would end up bothering me. but this was meant for bella and bella is absolutely in love with it. any time she catches me in the midst of down time, she reminds me that i already made little lu's sweater and i'm supposed to be working on hers now. this is what i got yesterday when she saw me doing some other craft; "well, i guess little lu is your best friend, since you made her a sweater". really? is she 4 or 13? sometimes i can't tell.
this is also about a size and a half too big, so maybe thats whats throwing me off. the sleeves should be 3/4 length. i'll wrap it up for christmas, and with any luck she'll have an extraordinary growth spurt in the meantime. or maybe it will actually fit the following winter as well. that would be a bonus::
a rough translation of little lu's toddler grumblings in the next shot: "what the, its 80 degrees and humid! i'm. not. having. it."::
alright, alright, we're done! and now i've got to start the larger version.
this sweater was made using the striped swing sweater pattern found on the lion brand website. so many free patterns, so little time.
