my first attempt at one of four flower motifs from a new pattern came out way off gauge. it didn't look much like a flower either. oh wait, that's because i read the directions wrong::

much better. and just like that, i'm up to the right gauge and back on track::
this chunky yarn streak i'm on is really working out. i love how fast things work up! very satisfying. i will now have to put in a special order for 8 skeins of this yarn in the same dye lot. i have a sneaking suspicion that all of these big, wooly, warm weather projects will be done just in time for tank top season. oh well, at least i'll be prepared come fall!
