this season i had to repair five frames in our old hive. which means, five frames of drawn out comb came out. i also had a decent collection of burr comb stashed away. it was time for some melting::
this time around the resulting block was over 11 ounces::
the smell is amazing! spilling some of the hot beeswax on the kitchen floor? not so amazing. i'll be more careful next time.
