or, "hearts and crafts". whichever you prefer. here's an easy way to get festive for valentines day. take some colored paper and make lines across that are an inch apart::
now cut. you can cut about four pages at once, held together behind your template. even if some wind up a little uneven, things will be okay::
fold each strip in half. don't worry, the time consuming part is now over. grab your stapler and get ready::
to start a chain, put a staple about a half inch up from the fold. pull down the loose ends and join them underneath::
it's a heart! did you see that coming?::
tuck those loose ends into the fold of the next strip and staple::
repeat, repeat, repeat::
if you use a heavy card stock, you could make some long lengths for garland. we used our construction paper stash and found that the hearts flatten out if you try to hang them banner style. we made a whole lot of little lengths and hung them everywhere. from the ceiling was most impressive. yay for valentines day....and the chocolate and candy that comes with it!
