rosemary and garlic. my favorite combination. here's how it went: i roasted two garlic bulbs, carefully removed the roasted cloves and put them into the freezer. then i took about a tablespoon of dried rosemary and crushed it up with the mortar and pestle. i added that to the normal recipe for no knead bread and set the dough to hang out overnight. the garlic remained in the freezer::
in the morning i took out the frozen cloves and folded them into the dough while i was forming my ball. this way they didn't get all mashed and smashed in the process::
oh the garlicky goodness. if you love garlic, you will love this version of the no knead. the best part for me though was that rosemary flavor coming through. i've since made it without the garlic, sticking with only the tablespoon of dried rosemary and it was delicious. just the right amount of flavor and absolutely perfect for dipping in a little olive oil seasoned with salt and freshly cracked pepper. mmmmmm.
