and you may want to pop some corn, there's a lot of content coming. over the weekend, and for the first time in a decade (yes, you read that right) i found some time for myself. jen and i met up and got on the road. we spent the weekend in burlington vermont and also stopped in at "the bunker" (this is what our neighbors up north call it.....quite fitting actually). first the fungi::
now some exploring in the backyard::
i finally got the chance to leap and climb and hike over to the secret spot above the swimming hole. previously unchartered by myself, as it is impossible to navigate with a baby in the back pack and a toddler in the arms. a little slippery, but i made it. in order of appearance; my seat, upstream, and downstream::
a little more progress, which had me all choked up::
and of course, a whole different kind of progress::
the road in (and up) took a direct hit from the hurricane. we were lucky to be high enough up, but some of our neighbors had the river running straight through their homes! a new bridge is in the works, for now its cross at your own risk.
we slowly made our way down (accidentally blocking traffic in our attempts to document road damage) and headed into burlington. our first stop was nido::
i wish i had more photos to share, but i quickly got caught up in choosing fabric and squeezing lots of art yarn and local skeins! rest assured, all remaining corners of this shop are just as cute and cozy (if not, more so). love. and we had a chance to chat with the owner as well. good energy all around!
highway miles, hiking, dining, thrifting, splurging and lots of laughing. good times!
